Acquiring agricultural assets
On 14th July 2010 Alpcot Agro AB, a Swedish company, whose objective is to generate an attractive total return on invested capital by acquiring and farming agricultural lands, has concluded a framework agreement with Polski Koncern Miasny DUDA S.A. ("PKM Duda"). The framework agreement aims at transferring certain agricultural assets which include a grain silo under construction designed for 50,000 tones, certain pieces of machinery and equipment, a farmbase and other assets from PKM Duda's Ukrainian affiliates to Alpcot Agro's Ukrainian affiliates. The Framework Agreement also sets out the efforts to be taken jointly by the parties to ensure that Alpcot Agro's Ukrainian affiliates get in lease from natural persons of up to 7,500 hectares of agricultural land in Ivano-Frankivsk region.
