Vasil Kisil & Partners and BRDO Present New Functionality of the State Inspection Portal Enabling to Pass Tax Audits

22/12/2020

Entrepreneurs in Ukraine are anxiously awaiting tax audits. Small businesses do not always have the opportunity to receive professional legal support before, during and after tax audits. That is why the Better Regulation Delivery Office (BRDO) and Vasil Kisil & Partners Law Firm have developed a new section entitled “Entrepreneur’s Assistant” on the state inspection portal inspections.gov.ua, which is dedicated to providing clarification and useful advice for successfully passing tax audits. The presentation of the portal updates took place on December 22.

The free convenient functionality of the new “Entrepreneur’s Assistant” section on inspections.gov.ua will allow the users to read detailed instructions on what to do before, during and after tax audits, help them properly file an application or a complaint, and learn more about the specifics of tax law in Ukraine. Entrepreneurs can use the “Entrepreneur’s Assistant” tool at https://inspections.gov.ua/ready4/

Vasil Kisil & Partners have developed a supplement to the “Entrepreneur’s Assistant” section, the project implemented by the BRDO.

“We are pleased to join this important project, which aims to create a high-quality and relevant data source. Our goal is to raise the legal awareness and consciousness of entrepreneurs. By overcoming the legal nihilism through obtaining high-quality information, small entrepreneurs will become stronger and will be able to form a strong middle class that will create its own future,” said Andriy Stelmashchuk, Managing Partner of Vasil Kisil & Partners.

According to Yana Horiunova, Chief information Officer, BRDO, tax audits raise most questions among business owners, so the “Entrepreneur’s Assistant” tax section will be helpful to thousands of small and medium-sized businesses who cannot afford to employ a lawyer.

“Every entrepreneur may register its account with the Entrepreneur’s Assistant at no cost (for this, an identification (USREOU) code or full name for an individual entrepreneur is needed only) and review its company file, scheduled and unscheduled inspection plan, and assess on its own a level of risk its company is exposed to, check whether the inspectors correctly prepared the documents and, from now on, be better prepared for tax audits. We encourage everyone to use and tell about the Entrepreneur’s Assistant to his or her colleagues and friends because we have collected there tips and hints from the best experts on tax audits in Ukraine,” said Yana Horiunova.

Tetiana Berezhna, Counsel with Vasil Kisil & Partners, says that the tax functionality of the Entrepreneur’s Assistant is very practical. “We propose entrepreneurs template documents that can be used, in particular, to appeal against actions and decisions of tax authorities. The platform will be updated at all times as the tax legislation changes constantly as well and supplemented with practical advice from lawyers and associates of our firm’s tax practice who focus on tax audits,” she stressed.
