Kyiv School of Economics (KSE), an American non-profit organisation, has acquired a golf-club complex on Kyiv’s Obolon Embankment to establish a modern university campus, preserving its sports and recreational facilities and ensuring the grounds remain open to the community.

The transaction is structured through the sale and purchase of shares in the company owning the golf-club buildings.

Vasil Kisil & Partners’ lawyers have advised the purchaser on all matters of the transaction, performed legal due diligence of the Ukrainian project entity and its assets, land and real estate, structured the deal, drafted and assisted with negotiating all agreements and other transactional documents, and also advised on certain land and corporate matters.

Vasil Kisil & Patners’ real estate team advising on the deal included partner Alexander Borodkin, senior associate Roman Yemets, and associates Oleksandr Misiats and Vladyslava Burbeza.

According to KSE, with a total of $40 million, this is the largest private investment in education in Ukraine’s history. Of that amount, $18 million was allocated for the purchase of the complex, while the remainder will support campus conversion, the establishment of engineering and research laboratories, and the expansion of scholarship programs.
