Vasil Kisil & Partners has provided full legal support to New Horizons for Children in establishing a family-type children’s home in Brody (Lviv oblast, Ukraine).

New Horizons for Children (NHFC) is a US-based nonprofit that has supported orphaned and vulnerable children around the world since 2005. Following the full-scale invasion in Ukraine, NHFC has focused its efforts on helping Ukrainian orphaned children, foster families and children’s institutions that are facing severe challenges.

As part of the “Home of Hope” initiative, the Vasil Kisil & Partners team assisted NHFC with the acquisition of a house and land plot, their transfer into free use by foster parents, and the drawing up of necessary documentation for the official opening of a family-type children’s home. The new house in Brody has become a home for foster parents and five children. Soon, it will welcome five more orphaned children.

The project was implemented in cooperation with local authorities under the Memorandum of Understanding between NHFC and the Lviv Regional State Administration.

Dr. Sherri Lynn McClurg, Director of NHFC Ukraine: “We believe that genuine change happens where good intentions are reinforced by professional support. The expertise of Vasil Kisil & Partners has given a solid legal foundation to our second Home of Hope. With their help, we can focus on what truly matters – building a place where orphaned children regain stability, love, and the belief in a brighter future”.

The team working on the project included partner Anatoliy Pashynskyi, lawyers Marko Holovach and Maksym Vasyliev.
