Vasil Kisil & Partners Develops the Legal Architecture for Music Platform Na Yii Osnovi, a Joint Project of Avrora Multimarket and Pomitni Label

In 2024, Avrora Multimarket and the Pomitni record label set up a joint company to develop the music platform Na Yii Osnovi. The platform’s mission is to promote new Ukrainian music and help young artists bring their work to a wider audience.
Lawyers from Vasil Kisil & Partners’ Corporate and IP Practices joined forces to help the two participants build a clear management model for the joint project. The collaboration resulted in a corporate agreement outlining the rules of interaction between Avrora Multimarket and Pomitni as participants in the joint company, Na Yii Osnovi.
Iryna Horova, Founder & CEO of the Pomitni Music Label; Co-founder of the “Na Yii Osnovi” Platform, noted: “For Pomitni, the Na Yii Osnovi project is truly special. It not only supports Ukrainian music and opens up opportunities for young artists - it also sets an important precedent in the market: when a large, systemic business and a major label work together to develop the industry.
For me personally, it is important that behind this beautiful idea and our shared ambitions lies very clear work: well-structured processes, partnership with a law firm, and careful drafting of contracts. This gives us confidence in the transparency, durability, and effectiveness of our cooperation.
We have clearly defined roles and responsibilities, and most importantly, both partners are protected and confident that our joint work will be productive and bring real results for the entire music community.”
Lev Zhydenko, co-owner of the Aurora multi-market chain, commented on the project: “We remember well how we started with a small team and big dreams, so we can relate to the stories of young artists who are just taking their first steps. That’s why, together with the Pomitni music label, we created the Na Yii Osnovi platform. The roles in the project are clear: we invest and provide scale, while Pomitni brings professional expertise and works directly with the artists.
For us, this project is, on one hand, about supporting Ukrainian music and the young performers who create it. On the other hand, it is about our customers, who feel the vibe of this music in our stores - it creates emotions and makes visiting Aurora warm and truly enjoyable. We are confident that this collaboration will strengthen our music market, expand Ukrainian content, and provide authors with fair and meaningful opportunities for growth.”
Volodymyr Igonin, Partner and Head of the Corporate Practice at Vasil Kisil & Partners, says: “The participants in the company Na Yii Osnovi were united by a common goal - to support young Ukrainian artists. It was essential to correctly define their diverse roles and coordinate their further cooperation within the project. This has been a true teamwork experience. We are happy to bring legal certainty and sustainability to such a meaningful creative initiative.”
Speaking about the challenges posed by the project, Ilarion Tomarov, Counsel and Head of the IP Practice at Vasil Kisil & Partners, notes: “Our unique mission was to balance the distribution of rights to various objects protected by copyright and related rights with the income generated from content sharing by artists cooperating with the Na Yii Osnovi platform. It has been inspiring to work on such a multi-format project and explore various options for engaging artists, whether through music camps, festivals, or grant programmes.”
The Vasil Kisil & Partners project team included lawyers from the Corporate and IP Practices, counsel Ilarion Tomarov and senior associate Marharyta Tolmach, led by partner Volodymyr Igonin.
