Vasil Kisil & Partners is Top Ranked by The Legal 500 2020 in 11 practice areas

The Legal 500, a well-known law firm directory, published its survey for 2019. Vasil Kisil & Partners has been recognized as the best law firm in such legal practices as Dispute Resolution, Labour and Employment, Private Clients, Real Estate & Construction. In addition, such practice areas as Tax, White-Collar Crime, Banking and Finance, Corporate / M&A, Antitrust and Competition, and Intellectual Property have been ranked highly. 

According to The Legal 500, the Dispute Resolution practice is “client friendly, has a Western outlook and attitude, and combines strength and depth in all things cross-border.” Andriy Stelmashchuk is recommended by the directory for his experience in tax disputes and white-collar crimes, while Oleg Alyoshin is recommended for his achievements in the international arbitration. Oleg Kachmar has also been praised for his expertise in the domestic litigations.

The Real Estate & Construction practice has been, for nine consecutive years, ranked first during the survey, together with its head Alexander Borodkin. The clients praise “experience and willingness to listen to clients’ needs before proposing the right solution.”

The Labour and Employment team led by partner Oksana Voynarovska has been recommended highly for its “exceptional expertise.” Counsel Valeriya Savchuk has been named a “future generation lawyer” and senior associate Oleksandr Melnyk is a “raising star”.

The Private Clients practice excels in contentious family matters and inheritance disputes, as well as handling domestic and international tax planning. Clients say Oksana Voynarovska is “a top professional” in Ukraine who has “exceptional expertise.” Fellow practice head Alexander Borodkin is also recommended.   

The Legal 500 recommends the Banking, Finance and Capital Markets practice co-headed by Alexander Borodkin and Anna Sisetska who “immediately understand what clients need and delivers it.”

Corporate and M&A team is “very responsive and knowledgeable, and its advice is very business-friendly.” The practice is led by Volodymyr Igonin, Alexander Borodkin, and Anna Sisetska, who are also recommended.

The Competition practice and practice head Anna Sisetska have been ranked highly for their significant expertise in investigations of market dominance abuse and cartels, as well as merger control filings.

The Energy practice traditionally gets highest ratings from The Legal 500. In addition, Oleg Alyoshin who is the head of oil and gas and Alexander Borodkin who leads the renewables practice are recommended.

The directory highly recommends the Intellectual Property practice led by Ilarion Tomarov. Clients remark that it is “a great law firm with experienced lawyers who are always ready to help.”
